Habits Under
Chronic Stress
Chronic stress enters habit systems by shifting the brain away from deliberate, goal-directed behaviour toward whatever is already installed, before a single conscious choice is made. The conditions that habits depend on, time, space, cognitive capacity, and a coherent sense of self, are precisely what sustained stress weight erodes first, and it does so the way mould does: quiet, patient, and already through the wall by the time you notice the smell. This bundle maps that erosion, names what is driving it in the specific conditions of 2026, and builds the framework for designing around it rather than through it.
THIS BUNDLE ADDRESSES
What chronic stress does to the conditions habits depend on, and the framework for designing around it rather than through it.

I built this from a desire, a brain itch as I call it, to understand what stress was actually doing to the habits I was trying to maintain, and why the standard answers kept arriving one layer too late. It started with a pop-up window of a question: can you do more? The more I pressed yes, the sooner it returned. You know when I stopped? One day I opened yet another window to be blinded by a question: verify you are a human. What? And then it hit me. How long have we been in this maze of proving we are humans. To whom?
